"Copy cannot create desire for a product. It can only take the hopes, dreams, fears and desires that already exist in the hearts of millions of people, and focus those already existing desires onto a particular product. This is the copywriter’s task: not to create this mass desire – but to channel and direct it.” - Eugene Schwartz

Are you looking for someone to write content for your website or blog? Or perhaps you need a copywriter to create compelling sales copy. Either way, the WIN Marketplace has everything you need!

Content marketing is hard - and time consuming - and constantly evolving.

What works today may not work next week.

The content that draws eyeballs and inspires clicks through to your website might be viral on the socials and nowhere to be found in search engines (or vice versa).

This is a constant challenge, along with finding ideas and ways to engage audiences.

If you aren't having success, perhaps it's time to change your tactics and up-level your game.  After all, without a stream of prospects and leads, your sales team will be twiddling their thumbs.

WIN offers a range of creative, practical and affordable services designed to help businesses produce high quality content and increase engagement. Whether you’re new to content marketing or struggling to get started, we have a solution for you.

Case Study:

Leslie has had a website, social media accounts, and a local presence in her community for decades. In the beginning she trusted her gut and wrote all the copy herself. She did well in the search engines, even though she didn't really know what she was doing. Prospects found her website through the search engines and her sales team was able to close sales on a regular basis because the funnel was always refilling.

Then, IT happened -- an algorithm change and suddenly her website couldn't be found in the search engines at all.

Freaked out, she turned to social media to fill the void but having a full slate of reels, stories, and posts was a full-time job. What made matters worse was that she was late to the social media world, so she was facing an uphill climb with the competitors who had already figured out what was working. And when she looked at her stats, she wasn't seeing the connection between posting and a bump in sales inquiries.

Leslie was clearly needing a different strategy.

She contacted WIN for help with a sales incentive program, to inspire her sales team to find more leads themselves. After a consultation, we uncovered many issues, including that she was losing the battle for attention, interest, and desire so there wasn't much action taken, therefore, no leads to nurture and close.

The sales incentive needed to be part of a bigger strategy -- a strategy to capture the attention and inspire action first, then to remarket, engage, and nudge towards choosing her company instead.

We came up with a multi-faceted approach that started with a marketing overhaul. We identified her ideal customers and their needs and how they made decisions and then we got to work on the business story, messaging, branding, purpose and values.

With a revitalized foundation, we started to work on content that would capture the attention of her ideal customers, and we launched some campaigns to refill the funnel.

We added a retargeting pixel to her website and connected it to an identity graph, so that we had more data on who was being attracted to what promotion and, from there we could identify where they were in their customer journey and how to address what they needed to move forward.

When the momentum started to pick-up, we added the sales incentive campaign to revitalize the sales team and encourage them to sell more.

Overall, sales increased by 32% over 6 intense months of marketing and sales transformation and as we gained more insight from the data we were collecting, the following 6 months saw a further increase that sent overall revenue to 27% above their previous high-water mark.

She was ecstatic and her sales team were lifted out of their doldrums, eager to meet their targets so they would qualify for the rewards.

She continues to test new content strategies and split test sales copy and promotions.

AI powered technology, along with data and expertise, is playing a major role in moving as fast as the market.

What's the difference between Copywriting and Content Creation?

The main goal of copywriting is to spur an action such as booking a call, hitting the subscribe button, adding to your cart and checking out, or accepting your suggestion to do something else.

The main goals of content creation are to tell your story in a compelling way so that the audience understands more about your purpose, expertise, vision, and unique perspective on the topic that you are writing about, while also satisfying search engines' needs and driving traffic to your website.

When you combine your copywriting skills with a strong understanding of your audience, content drives traffic back to your website. You need to have an eye on both sides of the equation: creating a brand message that resonates with your target audience while attracting them at the same time. The key to success lies in communicating with clear messages that will motivate action—and ultimately lead to conversion.

What is Copywriting?

Copywriting is the art of crafting words to persuade people to act. This includes everything from email subject lines and body, to landing pages, ad copy, sales scripts, and product descriptions. The goal is always to tell a story that will convince your audience to take some kind of action.

Perhaps the best known copywriters are David Ogilvy and Eugene Schwartz, although there are many great, modern copywriters, each with their own formulas for writing ad content, sales letters, landing pages, and product descriptions that produce desired actions.

How is Content Writing Different?

Content marketing is all about telling stories that resonate with your customers and potential customers. It’s not just about writing. It’s about creating a narrative that helps your audience understand why they should care about your unique perspective on how they can solve their problem(s) or better their lives with your products or services. This means taking into consideration what makes them tick, what motivates them, and how they think, and converting it into a form that catches and keeps their attention.

Adapting Content Creation or Copywriting to your Business

The hardest part of creating content or copy -- apart from staring at a blank page with a nasty case of writers' block -- is knowing your best customer intimately so you can speak to them in their words. Content marketing is the process of creating and distributing relevant and valuable content to attract and convert potential customers into paying clients.

By talking to your audience, in words that resonate with them -- because they use them -- and focusing on their needs rather than yours, you'll attract more customers and prospects who align with your story and how you can help solve their problem.

Storytelling Matters, Today More Than Ever

The internet has changed everything about marketing. It’s made it easier than ever before to reach potential customers and build relationships with them. But it also means that we’ve seen an explosion in the number of businesses vying for attention online. This makes it harder than ever to stand out from the crowd.

To be successful, you need to create content that resonates with your target market. You have to know who they are, what they want, and why they're interested in your product or service.

Your content needs to be tailored to each individual audience. If you don't do this, you'll lose out on opportunities to connect with new customers and grow your business.

When You Understand Your Audience, Great Things Happen -- and Marketing and Sales Become So Much Easier

One common challenge that micro-businesses, small businesses, professional service providers, and some mid-market companies face is understanding who they serve, why they serve them, the value that you bring to your customers, and exactly how to reach more people who you can help.

It's a challenge that can be difficult to overcome, particularly if the business owner created the business based on products or services, rather than addressing challenges a specific audience has and working backward.

Regardless of your approach, knowing your audience is critical to your messaging, so that you can attract those who need what you are offering.

Why Improving Your Copywriting and Content Creation is Critical to Your Business Growth

Creating high quality content is hard work. You probably don't expect it when you start out, but there comes a time when you need to evaluate whether you're getting enough bang for your buck, relative to the amount of time you spend producing content. In other words: Are you spending too much money producing content you may not actually use?

If you believe your content isn't selling, then maybe it's time to invest in increasing its effectiveness. A few simple changes could set you up for success. After all, everyone knows that content marketing works. Your job is to develop strategies that ensure it does.

Perhaps your audience prefers whitepapers, video training, webinars, panel discussion, infographics to social media stories and reels.  Perhaps they may listen to podcasts while they are commuting or working out, rather than reading.

When you figure out what copy works for what audience and in what format, your marketing will become so much easier and more effective.

Her ideas were always exactly what we needed, even when we didn’t know at first what we needed.

Carol’s work with us was always top notch. I always felt comfortable allowing her to speak to senior management. Her ideas were always exactly what we needed, even when we didn’t know at first what we needed. I would work with Carol again in a heartbeat.

Alhassan

VICE PRESIDENT OF HR

I enjoyed working with you and your wonderful staff.

…I wanted to thank you for your patience, time and of course, Tim Horton’s coupons at Christmas. I enjoyed working with you and your wonderful staff. …I was worried when Lynn left on mat leave. I couldn’t picture you finding a replacement that was as capable, as outgoing and as dedicated as her. But, you found Arlene, who is a real treasure. She has just been so wonderful, fun and just a delight to work with.
